Oct. 7, 2009 (ATLANTA, GA) While many people associate parking decks as a gray no-man's land existing between their vehicle and their destination, on Oct. 7 at Georgia State University, nothing could be farther from the truth “ at least between 1-6 p.m.
During this time, the G-parking deck, on Level 3, will be transformed into one of the most distinct parking deck oddities in existence – a shrine to one of America’s most common, yet greatest cultural obsessions. The exhibit invites participates to watch, join in, or simply absorb the satirical perception.
The shrine is a parody on modern values created by a collaboration of Georgia State University’s Art and Design MFA candidates, including those in the photography, interior design and graphic design departments.
Visitors are encouraged to visit the free event and to take part in the fun and the documentation process. For more information contact Jim Chapman at 770-530-9671.
