I prefer to use arial over times roman. Sans-serifs are easier on my eyes I feel. I recall that papers always had to be 12pt Times New Roman for all my papers in high school and it always seemed odd to me. When I came to GSU, the teachers mostly had no preference, but said simply "I have to be able to read it" Only one English teacher thus far gave my class the strict requirement of using 10pt Arial, which after typing numerous papers in, I have grown attached.
